Isaiah Young

Isaiah Young is a dedicated and mission-driven educational leader with over 16 years of experience in public education, following a distinguished career in the U.S. Marine Corps, law enforcement, and corporate leadership. Currently serving as an assistant principal at Newman Smith High School in Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD, Young is recognized for his ability to drive student achievement through data-informed instruction, build professional learning communities, and foster a culture of equity and excellence.Young holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Dallas Baptist University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Texas. He is currently pursuing his Superintendent Certification at Texas A&M University–Commerce, demonstrating his commitment to continual growth and system-level impact.
Throughout his leadership career, he has excelled in both secondary and middle school settings. At Dan F. Long Middle School, he led instructional and behavioral systems on a high-needs Title I campus, implementing campuswide academic interventions that led to measurable growth in MAP and STAAR outcomes. He has served as summer school principal, athletic coordinator, and department chair, with a consistent focus on improving instructional quality, supporting teacher development, and building strong relationships with families and communities.
Before entering the field of education, Young served as a deputy sheriff with the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department and worked as a community planner for the Dallas City Attorney’s Office. He is a proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran, where he developed the leadership discipline and integrity that now define his educational philosophy.
Married for 36 years, a father of five, and a proud grandfather of eleven, Young leads with the heart of a servant and the mindset of a transformational leader. His mission is to support every scholar as if they were his own, cultivating campuses where high expectations, opportunity, and student success are the norm.
