Monday, August 112th is our first day of school! Wondering what to do? Check out this guide:
First Day of School
Blalack Students will return to school on Monday, August 12th. The school day begins at 8:10 am and ends at 3:30 pm. Supervision for students begins at 7:10 am each morning and ends at 3:40 pm each day. Also, to ensure the safety of the students and staff at Blalack Middle School, please remember our security procedures. These procedures directly affect how parents, visitors, and volunteers can appropriately gain access to the building and spend time engaging in the education process of our school.

Parent Square and Parent Self-Serve
If you have not already done so, please sign up for Parent Square and Parent Self-Serve. These will be our primary sources for information and registration. We will also continue to update our website and Twitter, and Facebook accounts with important information.
Lunch and Food Deliveries
Because of federal regulations, students may not order or bring in outside food. However, parents can bring lunch to school for their students. It can be left in the front office and the student will be called down to retrieve the lunch. The lunch must be accompanied by the parent. Food cannot be delivered to students via food delivery services (i.e. UberEats, DoorDash, GrubHub, etc.) and should only be for your student.

The Blalack PTA will be holding Den Talk for 6th-grade families on Tuesday, August 6th in two sessions for those who would like to attend. Session 1 will be from 5:00-5:30 pm and the second event will be from 6:00-6:30 pm. We here at Blalack want to make sure that your questions are answered and that you are getting the assistance you need to begin the school year.
Physicals
7th and 8th-grade athletes must have a physical on file in the coach’s office in order to be in the athletic class and try out for volleyball or football. Please turn these in to Coach Cummings or Coach Essex as soon as possible.
Immunizations and Online Registration
This is a reminder to 7th-grade parents that by Texas law, your student must have ALL immunizations completed by the first date of attendance. The law requires that students be fully vaccinated against specified diseases. If the school does not have a copy of your student's vaccination by the first day of school, they will not be allowed to attend class. Please make sure the online registration is completed.
Absence Reporting
The school must receive this completed form and any required documentation within 3 school days of your child's return to school.
