Visitors
Visitor Check-In Safety System (Raptor)
To help keep students and staff safe, Blalack Middle School and all CFBISD campuses use a visitor check-in system called Raptor.
When You Visit Campus - Temporary Entrance on East Peters Colony Road
All visitors, volunteers, contractors, and parents picking up students must check in at the front entrance:
-
Present a valid state-issued ID (driver’s license or ID card)
-
Have their ID scanned into the system
-
Wear a printed visitor sticker while in the building
The visitor sticker includes your name and photo so staff can easily identify approved visitors on campus.
Returning Visitors
After your ID has been scanned the first time, you usually will not need to show it again. Simply tell the front office staff your name, and they can print a new visitor sticker if your photo matches.
How Raptor Helps Keep Schools Safe
The Raptor system checks visitor information against public sex offender databases and school safety alerts related to custody issues or restraining orders. This is not a criminal background check. The system does not search for traffic tickets, warrants, felonies, and/or criminal history.
Privacy Information
The information collected is used only by the school, the school district, and Law enforcement (when necessary).
Your information is not sold or shared with outside companies or organizations.
Volunteering
Parents, guardians, and other community members that want to volunteer must complete the annual Volunteer Background Check. Any activity that requires supervision of students will need to complete this check and is good from July-May.
We encourage all to complete this at the beginning of the school year as it can take up to 2 weeks to process.
Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and secure learning environment for all students.
