Requirements: 

I. Membership is open to any currently enrolled Blalack Middle School student.
II. Club cannot exceed 30 members
III. Club members must have a signed permission slip

Description:

I. To expose students to Japanese culture through reading manga and watching anime adaptations
II. To engage in other activities that will further students' knowledge of Japanese customs, traditions, and language
III. To provide a safe space for students to share their own artwork, writing, and interests in the anime/manga genre

When: Once a month on Wednesdays, 3:35-4:35 in P102

Description: We will make arts and craft projects to explore different craft activities to promote imagination, creativity, and build an artistic community.

Sponsor:  Mr. Willaert & Ms. Teter

Description: Bear Buddies is an inclusive club whose purpose is to provide opportunities for students to socialize and get to know other students who live with unique challenges. Students can participate in fellowship, arts and crafts and party planning activities no matter what their ability is!

Meets the first Monday of every month, unless announced otherwise.

Requirments: Open to current Blalack students and staff

Discription: Have fun developing critical thinking strategies through the game of Chess and other board games.

Meeting: Fridays(3:35 - 4:05pm) in D7

Sponsor:  Coach Gregg and Mr. Sczech

Description:  Increase students' problem-solving, cooperation, and basic mathematics skills through creative/imaginative role play. (i.e. Fight dragons, score tons of loot, protect innocent villagers from goblins, and get up to all types of shenanigans.

Meetings: TBD (probably 2-3 days a week after school) C11

Description: Students will compete against other schools / clubs in different games (Fall Season: Rocket League, Minecraft) (Spring Season: Overwatch & Super Smash Bros U.)

Description:  Students work together in a collaborative environment to design clothes in various styles. Last year, two groups of students completed making a dress.  This club is for students who would like to express themselves freely and comfortably with peers their age who hold the same creative interests in fashion.

Meeting: Tuesdays after school; 3:35 - 4:00 in F2

Description:  Students can use Photoshop and other graphic design tools to create flyers, logos, posters, etc and have a chance to talk and learn about graphic design trends

Requirements:  Applications (10 Thespian Points and $17 dues)

Description: Theatre honor society, meets for rehearsals and theatre activities, students must participate in shows after joining ITS, officers have separate meetings (TBD)

Description: Kind Club is a safe space where students can come share what is going on in their lives. We discuss ways we can encourage each other, our friends, and spread kindness throughout our school and community. 

Meetings: Every Thursday 3:35-4:05pm in P103

Requirements: GPA requirements, invitation only, 8th grade, application-based

Description: Academic & Service Club for 8th  Graders

Description: Uplift school spirit and spread positive school culture by planning school events and fundraisers. We participate in school announcements, creating fun Advisory lessons, planning spirit weeks, presenting at assemblies and EOY awards and much more!

Description: It's all about words. Students will play word games like Scrabble, crossword puzzles, word searches, etc.  We'll do board games or digital as opportunities present themselves.

Meeting: After school on Thursday, room F24

Sponsor:  Ms. Swenson, Ms. Wimberley, Ms. Geiger, & WyldLife Staff

Description:  Wyldlife is a high-energy, fun time for middle school friends to hang out, play games, laugh a ton, sing and dance, and be encouraged by leaders who think they are awesome.  Club is led by WyldLife staffers.

When do we meet?  Every other Friday morning in the small gym (get passes in the cafeteria from leaders)

Description: Capturing the spirit of Blalack by taking pictures at school events and designing the yearbook pages for publication!
