Blalack MS and Creekview HS bands selected to perform at Music for All National Festival

For the first time, two CFBISD bands were selected to perform at the Music for All National Festival. This high honor, given to few programs across the country, is a rare opportunity for participating educators and student musicians.

This coming March, the Blalack MS honors band, under the direction of Keith Marshall, and the Creekview HS wind symphony, under the direction of Arturo Denis, will travel to Butler University in Indianapolis to perform in the festival. This is the second time Creekview has received an invitation for this prestigious event.

“This is shaping up to be a remarkable year for fine arts,” said Mark Rohwer, CFBISD Director of Fine Arts.  “The arts are essential to our schools. Our students are doing remarkable things.”

The Music for All National Festival celebrates outstanding music-making by the nation’s finest high school and middle school scholastic ensembles. Top concert bands, orchestras, jazz bands, percussion and chamber ensembles will take the stage to showcase their musical abilities.

“The vision of Music for All is to be a catalyst to ensure that every child across America has access and opportunity to active music-making in their scholastic environment,” said Jeremy Earnhart, President and CEO of Music for All. “The National Festival is key to helping us realize this aspiration. As a gathering of some of the finest scholastic musicians and educators, it allows us to shine a spotlight for all to see.”
